The Canadian Coalition for Environmental & Climate Justice

Sue Big Oil is a collaboration between community-led organizations and ordinary British Columbians concerned about harmful climate change impacts in BC communities, and the skyrocketing costs for BC’s local governments and taxpayers. Given the role of the fossil fuel industry in knowingly causing climate change and blocking policies and actions to address climate change, we urge our local governments to take legal action to force the world’s largest fossil fuel companies to pay their fair share of climate costs.

Ontario Climate Emergency Campaign

Representatives from environmental organizations, and concerned citizens, across what is currently Ontario talking about climate issues, efforts, and solutions from across the province.
Job training would be accessible and offered with a thriving wage. Young people would be prepared to work in a variety of jobs that would transform our economy and climate for the better.

Specific jobs could include working in renewable energy, building retrofits, ecosystem restoration, forest management, emergency response, and community aid. to increase the ambition of climate policy and action in so-called British Columbia.

Youth Climate Corps

The BC Climate Emergency Campaign is a joint initiative of civil society organizations, anxious about the climate emergency, who are collaboratingIf “won”, the national Youth Climate Corps would be a transformative new public program for anyone 35 and under that would offer 2-year placement with training and good pay doing meaningful climate work to anyone who wants it. No one would be turned away. It would be a government-funded program, run regionally by communities across the country.
