About the Campaign
As an organizing partner for the 2025 Draw the Line (DTL) event, SUTE assisted with online promotion. Inspired by the protest’s five demands, Mike Redston (our Makers & Shakers team lead) created a custom poster to promote the event.
The DTL team liked the visuals so much, they wanted to do more with it. That sparked an idea: what if we created postcards to hand out at the Vancouver event that people could send directly to the Prime Minister, so he could feel the urgency and importance of the message.
With input from the DTL team, our team adapted the illustrations into a postcard adding a more hopeful vision for the future to contrast with the doom and gloom of the struggles we’re facing. The back listed DTL’s 5 demands and was pre-addressed and ready to mail.
We ended up printing 1000 postcards and distributing them all at the Vancouver protest.
On top of that, the DTL team chose to incorporate the artwork into banners carried during the march and a huge hand-painted canvas hung over the Georgia Street Viaduct.
The event drew an estimated 5000 people marching through the city. Congrats to the DTL team for organizing such a powerful event filled with optimism!
